ROT STAR is Aurora View writing their way out of the dark. The LA-based project fuses the emotional weight of alternative rock with jagged electronic textures, pulling from My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, Nine Inch Nails, and Korn, but just as much from acts like Sega Bodega and the atmospheric edges of hyperpop. Written in the immediate aftermath of an abusive relationship, the album moves through anger, grief, and the slow, unglamorous work of rebuilding: tracks like "BLOW ME" and "GIMP" cut close to the bone, while "the world is rotting and so are you" brings in Japanese alt-duo CRYXIS for a moment of shared catharsis. Mixed by Courtney Ballard (Waterparks, All Time Low, 5 Seconds Of Summer), it's the most exposed yet refined Aurora View has ever sounded.
