The dark electronic acts Dawn of Ashes and Suicide Commando released a collaborative single entitled ‘Penumbra’ last week. It is the first track to be issued from the forthcoming all new album and it channels the raw intensity and atmosphere of early ‘00s dark electro-industrial music, evoking a powerful sense of nostalgia while remaining uncompromising in its aggression!

With a group name that suggests ‘the beginning of the end’, Dawn Of Ashes emerged from the industrial and aggrotech genres before expanding into the blackened metal and extreme industrial scenes. Bathory and his band have been a relentless force ever since, evolving and redefining the boundaries of extreme music for over two decades.
Bathory relocated to Denmark shortly before writing and recording the band’s 2025 album, ‘Infecting the Scars’. It was a record that marked a rebirth, fusing the raw, unfiltered aggression of the past with a refined and evolved sound and it is the by far best selling Dawn of Ashes albums in years!

Dawn Of Ashes creates a uniquely powerful amalgamation of black metal and electronic influences, seamlessly flowing from haunting atmospheric dark ambient interludes to industrial synth-driven, unrelentingly concussive symphonic black metal.
