Amazing new signing on METROPOLIS!
Active since 2013, the duo from South Africa – now based in the UK – have self-released a high number of remarable singles and two albums, and have now been signed to the US’ biggest electro label!
Seamlessly genre-hopping between alternative, indie, electronic and dream-pop, with diversions into alternative dance and even nu-goth, the songs of Hunter As A Horse have been described as mysterious, apocalyptic soundtracks for the strange happenings of our time, with the UK newspaper “The Guardian” commenting: "Brings to mind the mesmerising atmospherics of Lamb and Zero 7. Dark and very lovely indeed."
The subject matter of Mia van Wyk's lyrics are a mystical ride through her strange and synchronicitous life. Deeply authentic, they are inspired by death, addiction, astral visions, CPTSD, melancholia, nostalgia and magical thinking. Songs by HAAH can be heard in US TV shows such as American Horror Story, Riverdale and Elite, the film 'Wander Darkly' and an array of international adverts.
Their brand new single, that bears the same title as their new album, is a dark, electrifying descent into inherited trauma and self-reclamation. The track pulses with defiance and raw intensity. Haunted by bloodline memories yet refusing to break, the voice within rises—twisted, powerful, unapologetic—ripping through illusion “like a flashlight.” It’s a sinister anthem of transformation, where pain becomes fuel and survival turns into something dangerously magnetic.
