"Dear music lovers,
Whether you remember MENTICIDE — the relentless EBM force from Stockholm/Sweden that burst onto the scene decades ago—or are just discovering them now,
one thing’s clear: MENTICIDE are back.
Formed by Christian R. (programmer in Pouppée Fabrikk and C.A.P.) and Johan Damm (original frontman of Dupont),
the band began life as VOLT in the early 2000s.
Inspired by classic EBM and crossover titans like Nitzer Ebb, DAF, Laibach, and Rammstein, the duo quickly moved beyond homage,
crafting their own raw and driving sound.
Their breakout track, Stahlwerk (under Volt), a minimal and infectious anthem featured on the now-cult 2006 compilation Hymns of Steel, caught the attention of Swedish label SubSpace Communications (known for Covenant, Spetsnaz, S.P.O.C.K).
MENTICIDE’s sound is rooted in old-school EBM but infused with sinister industrial textures and crossover aggression—anchored by Damm’s unmistakable vocal presence,
howling in both English and German.
Their debut album N.M.E., released in 2007, delivered underground club staples like Komm Zu Mir, Wrong, and Search And Destroy—cementing their status across scenes and festivals alike.
Now, after a long hiatus, MENTICIDE returns—rearmed with a powerful new label partnership and a fresh arsenal of brutal, melodic material.
Ready for the stage, they're here to ignite new audiences and reunite with longtime fans.
"Beware."
