After a four-year hiatus from writing, French band Mestre returns with a powerful eight track Album, perfectly timed with their fall tour - this album marks a new chapter for the band. Mestre's sound has evolved, offering more space and dynamism in their vocals and more ethereal atmospheres, while staying true to their signature tense, energetic post-punk style, exemplified in tracks like "Numbers." With "All of You are so far," they masterfully bridge the gap between new wave and post-punk once again, delivering more sophisticated songwriting and production. The almost pop-leaning track "In My Darkness" captures this evolution beautifully, emerging as the standout hit of the album. The last three tracks, reworked from the band’s 2018 debut demo, retain their raw DIY spirit but benefit from real drums and a more refined mix and mas- tering, courtesy of Jacky Cadiou (known for his work with Syndrome 81, Cuir, and Meat Shirt).
