All new album by ORFEÒN GAGARIN, the main project by Miguel A. Ruiz, one of the true pioneers of the risky and innovative Spanish electronic music scene since the early eighties!. In 1986 he released his first cassette on his own label Toracic Tapes. Since then he has remained active at the international network of underground electronic music. He composed many solo albums in all formats, especially on cassette and CD, under different names. Ruiz has published with other respected international labels like Old Europa Café, Aquarelist, Monochrome Vision, Menstrual Rec., Abstrakce, Geometrik, etc. In addition he also collaborated with musicians from different countries such as Francisco López, Cisfinitum (Codachrom), Siegmar Fricke (Efficient Refineries) Dieter Mauson, or Stefano Barban. Ruiz's style is imaginative and surprising. Retro Sci-Fi, old technology, Soviet Space Era, Borges, clinical pathologies, black humor, extra-planetary life..., are common topics within the surrealist microcosm of this artist. He practices or combines different forms of electronic music like industrial, dark ambient, experimental or techno-pop After his last two albums as Orfeòn Gagarin, ‘Voces a 45’ (Geometrik-Munster, 2019) and ‘Salmos Funiculares’ (Artificial Owl, 2022), he now presents a new album, which includes 8 tracks where he combines influences of German electronic classics like Cluster or Asmus Tietchens (his albums on Sky Records), with electronic melodies. Ruiz also explores the sonic possibilities of his vintage synthesizers & drum machines collection, and other analog electronic instruments.
