Long held in high regard for a sound that is a modern and unique take on classic goth and post-punk, Swedish trio Then Comes Silence have released a new single entitled ‘Judgement Day’.
It is the first ‘taster’ to be lifted from 'Requiem Ballroom’, their new studio album out on 20th November.
“This song is about failure, bad decisions and poor behaviour - those who will be the first in line on doomsday,” the band explain. Beginning with a catchy Euro techno melody, the surprising intro creates a contrast to the band’s established roots from the outset and serves as a metaphor for the theme of the song. The band itself ‘fails’ by letting something completely unexpected and out of character take over.
Then Comes Silence follow up 2024’s masterful ‘Trickery’ in ever-confident fashion on ‘Requiem Ballroom’, their seventh full-length album!
Representing both a farewell (Requiem) and resurrection (Ballroom) unfolding simultaneously across a dozen new songs, the album demonstrates just why the Swedish trio are at the forefront of the modern gothic rock and post-punk movements with a devoted international following.
