White Lies, one of Britain’s most acclaimed guitar bands, are set to release their seventh album, “Night Light.”

Inspired by the 1970s live performance TV show The Midnight Special, the trio decided to perfect the songs live first — refining every detail before heading into the studio. The goal: more simplicity, fewer elaborate setups. This approach allowed them to focus on songwriting and the chemistry between the tracks, relying on their 17-year musical connection to shape the album’s energy.

The result — created in close collaboration with producer Riley McIntyre and keyboardist Seth Evans — blends elements of progressive rock, synth-driven soundscapes, and at times even disco.

On their seventh album, White Lies still sound both confident and creatively fresh. Or, as vocalist and guitarist Harry McVeigh puts it: “We finally know what we’re doing.”
